STORKTELLING

We all had the same problems

Gaspard .T – 22 years old ” I had a package delivered, it arrived on the only day of the week I was not there. I had no choice of time and no one in my place to pick it up. So, they send it back to the post office, which meant I had to pick it up several days later “

Adrien .B- 25 years old ” I had a parcel delivered from Sweden, it was impossible for me to track the parcel coming from abroad and there was an error in the delivery address, the parcel had to be sent back to Sweden, and the sender had to pay a new shipment “

Léo .J- 28 years old ” According to my parcel tracker, the package arrived at its destination, but someone else pick it up for me and I don’t know who “

Camille .C- 30 years old ” I can’t have a mirror delivered to complete my home decoration, I can’t buy it in the store because it’s too heavy, but each delivery results in a broken package “

Claire .D- 35 years old ” I want to be careful of my carbon footprint, but it always forces me to choose between speed or respect for the planet by favoring longer shipments “

INTERVIEW WITH ROGER CROOK

With over 25 years of experience in international leadership, this Former Global CEO of DHL Global Forwarding brings us his unique strategic and operational expertise to help us manage our start up!

What were the main problems related to the market that you faced during your experience?

Unfortunately, the traditional CEP industry has many challenges that need to be addressed. Too many constraints are given to the end-customers who should not have to be so flexible on a service they pay for. It is simple, can you imagine paying for a meal that is half served, poorly presented, or never arrives at your table? The same should be true for delivery. Too many service failures have been normalized; no delivery on weekends and holidays, no pick-up times given, delivery windows between 8am and 6pm, delays, breakages, losses… you name it. It is time to reverse the trend!

Having worked as CEO of DHL, which is one of the largest pure players in the CEP sector, why did you choose to believe in STORK?

Related to my previous answer, it is time to create an optimized CEP market. What STORK has been able to visualize is that the improvement of the service requires more than just the optimization of the last mile delivery. The whole value chain must be considered, from the logistics provider to the e-merchants, small retailers, delivery companies to private individuals. If we want to offer a seamless CEP market, we need to understand the challenges of the various players, solve them, and link them to create a complementary ecosystem that is constantly improving. This is the value proposition of STORK.

How will STORK disrupt this industry?

By offering a solution for every actor in the market, it optimizes all the steps of the sector, something that has never been done before. In addition to being a pioneer, STORK has developed a unique technology by integrating an AI and a machine learning tool, which already makes the difference since its improvement and optimization are endless. STORK has already developed an application, a plug-in or API and a Dashboard. These tools connect individuals, merchants, delivery companies and logisticians. Its solution allows to optimize the market, to limit the pollution of the sector, to reduce the costs, therefore a cheaper offer and a traceable, personalized, and flexible service. As it develops and is commercialized, STORK could reach up to 20% of the CEP market.

How did STORK inspire you?

When I met the founder of STORK, Julien Lenne, it clicked. He is an ambitious entrepreneur who is motivated to turn the market upside down and to finally offer a respectful and optimized process industry. In an age where innovation is essential, Julien was able to bring together all these notions in the daily life of STORK and through hard work, deliver a solution with huge potential. It was therefore obvious to join them in their project.

What do you think you can bring to the project?

My 30 years of experience in the CEP sector gives me a very precise vision of the needs of the market and an understanding of the new challenges facing this industry. Today we are working hand in hand to offer a unique solution, which I would like to take and develop internationally.
